The Matheny School provides a comprehensive educational program, which includes instruction in all academic areas. The school serves students from pre-school through grade 12 (ages 3-21) with medically complex developmental disabilties. Teachers are fully certified in special education and "highly qualified" to teach the core curriculum content areas. Students' needs are met through truly individual educational plans (IEPs), which focus on strengths and developing skills through "best practices". Student services include therapies, social work, psychology and medical care. The Matheny School is approved through the state departments of education from New Jersey, New York and Indiana; and is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
Matheny’s Adult Services program provides education services for both adult residents and adult day health services patients. The curriculum is designed to instill a sense of self-respect and self-expression for persons, aged 21 and older, with severe physical disabilities and medical conditions.
