Bergen County Gap Stores Donate Clothing to Patients
The Gap's Rosemarie Monaco delivers a
gift
box to 12-year-old Matheny student,
Shane Szott.
Rosemarie Monaco, a resident of Paramus, visited the Matheny Medical and Educational Center as part of Gateway to Glory, a Fair Lawn-based spiritual dance and drama group, and the visit lingered with her long after she left. Monaco, who works at the GapKids store in Ridgewood, mentioned Matheny to Carolyn Libertucci, head manager of the Gap Bergen County district, which includes 10 stores. Every year, the Gap district selects a non-profit organization to which it makes a donation, and, based on Monaco’s recommendation, this year’s recipient was Matheny. On Friday, December 28, Monaco distributed Gap gift boxes of clothing to all of Matheny’s residential patients and students, each one personalized by name.
