Delbarton Basketball Team Visits Matheny

The Delbarton School basketball team recently toured Matheny, visited with students and patients and participated in an adaptive basketball contest, created by Matheny phys ed instructor, Jim Hintenach.

In one contest, a Matheny student shot baskets from her wheelchair while a Delbarton player shot baskets while sitting on the floor. In another case, both players shot with a ball attached to a self-propelling cord. The idea is to have Matheny students and patients compete as equals in an adapted physical education activity.
