"These are artists who refuse to be defined by their disabilities. Their art helps to communicate who they are." With those words, Steve Proctor, president of Matheny, prepared his audience for the multi-media stage presentation that was an integral part of Full Circle 2010: The Human Condition, the 17th annual celebration of Matheny’s Arts Access Program, which makes it possible for people with disabilities to create fine art, assisted by professional artist-facilitators. The event was held Saturday, November 6, in Matheny's Robert Schonhorn Arts Center.

The presentation of dance, drama and poetry was preceded and followed by a 57-piece exhibit of fine art, consisting of acrylic paintings, digital images, pigment prints and digital sculpture created by artists in the program. Guest curator of the visual art exhibit was Madison-based artist, Dan Fenelon. Food and beverages were donated by Ciao Cucina, Basking Ridge; Due Terre Enoteca, Bernardsville; 3West, Basking Ridge; Gladstone Tavern, Gladstone; cocoLuxe Fine Pastries, Peapack; New Gladstone Market, Gladstone; and Village Office Supply, Somerset.

Sponsors were: Affinity Federal Credit Union, Gold Patron; Johnson & Johnson, Arts Access Program Sponsor; BWD Group (Stuart Wilkins), Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Durr, Mr. sand Mrs. Richard M. Goldrosen, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel McLauglin and Man S. Yu, Bronze Patrons.
